Our Story
SweetBoy was born in the first months of the pandemic. Our company started with founder Ben Sidell baking cookies, buns, and cakes for friends, in an effort to spread a little sweetness and indulge people’s dire need for some sense of comfort and community. Once word got around, he became inudated with orders from people all over LA, and found himself spending half of his days in the kitchen and the other half in the car delivering his goodies.
Cut to 2022, when his mother, Kathy Sidell's, restaurant Saltie Girl opened its second location in Los Angeles and Ben came on board to lead the dessert program. SweetBoy moved from a cottage food business in his home, to the upstairs kitchen on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. In addition to an expansive dessert menu at the restaurant, SweetBoy boasts delicious offerings that are availble for pre-order/pick up throughout the week.
In 2024, Ben took over the dessrt programs for his family's other two restaurants in his hometown of Boston, Saltie Girl and Stephanie's On Newbury. Pre-order/pick up soon to follow...
